Three different trades carried by one team at Yumea: web, print, business tool. Many clients ask why we refuse to specialise. Here's the answer.

In most agencies, the website is done by a digital studio, print by a printer or freelance designer, business tool by an IT services firm or a specialised vendor. Three players, three invoices, three contacts, three rhythms. At Yumea, all three are done by one team of two people. Many say that's not specialised enough. We think the opposite, and here's why.

The three trades feed each other

A website that speaks to the right audience uses the same words as the printed documents circulating at the client's. If the agency doing the site doesn't read the brochures, it writes a site parallel to the brand. If the printer doesn't look at the site, it prints a support out of sync with the online identity. A business tool designed by someone who also knows the client's communication knows what words to put in labels, which screens are most critical for the business's professional image, and how an exported report can go straight into a sales document.

What it changes concretely

For you: one brief, one team to brief, one contact for adjustments. We don't bill coordination between three providers because there aren't three. For us: we spend time upfront understanding your overall communication, not just the piece we're working on. That time is recovered in deliveries, because we don't redo the learning for each project. For the final tool: it's coherent with the rest. The alert screen uses the same vocabulary as your newsletter. PDFs generated by the software look like your sales documents.

Why most agencies don't do the same

Two reasons. Economic: specialising a team on one trade lets you bill more because you become "expert". Multiplying trades dilutes the expertise in a day-rate model. Operational: carrying three trades requires rare profiles, easier to find in a small structure than a large one. Two people carrying three trades works. Thirty people carrying three trades is much harder to coordinate. Our choice: stay small to hold all three.

What we've seen on the ground

A client asked us for an internal order-management tool. While observing, we saw they lost time re-typing orders into a sales document to send to suppliers: a document we had ourselves designed in print a year earlier. We integrated the export in that document's format into the tool, no extra cost. A tool-only provider wouldn't have had access to the document source.

FAQ

Are you really good at all three? We're good at three trades that overlap, within a scope: communications and business tools for SMEs or institutions. Not for heavy industry, banking, or mass retail: different worlds.

What if I need only one of the three? No problem. We can do just a site, just print, just a tool. But we'll ask you, in passing, what the rest of your communication looks like: so what we do doesn't clash with the rest.
