Attife, Nawame, and a few others: tools we first built for ourselves. We decided to share them. Here's why, and what it says about our method.

Beyond tools we build for clients, Yumea has a few products first made for our own needs or to test an idea. Attife is a mobile wardrobe-management app. Nawame is a portable working memory for AIs. Not a product portfolio we sell. A laboratory: with a principle: if an idea seems useful, we build it to test it for real. If it works, we share it.

Why we do this

Three reasons. We build better what we use ourselves. Mistakes we make on our own products, we live them directly: making us stricter on client deliveries. We learn on new things, not on your back. When we test a technique, architecture, or framework, we do it first on our own products. You don't become the training ground of an agency discovering. We keep a living trace of what we can do. A client-project portfolio ages fast: projects evolve, sometimes disappear. Our own products we maintain. They're the most honest showcase of our method: no past brief to embellish, no dated screenshots, the code runs today.

What we don't do

We don't sell these products as packaged SaaS with sales, dedicated support, etc. We don't try to grow them fast: they're laboratories. Attife is free. Nawame is in public construction. We don't try to sell them. We mention them so you can see, if you wish, how we write code.

What this says about our method

Three things. We don't build only what's quoted. Part of our time goes to products without a client, to test, to learn. We live with our own mistakes. We accept being observed. You can use our products, spot their flaws, call them out. Uncomfortable but honest: we don't sell you a method we don't apply to ourselves.

The risk we take by telling you

Many agencies hide their experiments to avoid the "garage lab" image. We prefer owning it. If you choose us, you don't choose an agency that only does client work: you choose an agency that practises its trade continuously, including on itself. A guarantee of freshness.

What we've seen on the ground

Building Attife for ourselves, we discovered a mobile architecture we'd planned for a client wouldn't hold under real use. We changed the architecture before proposing it to the client: who never had to suffer the problem. Without Attife, we'd have discovered it on their project.

Will you ever sell these products? Not planned. They're laboratories. If one takes commercial scale, we'll say so publicly and separate the teams.
