Happy Chinese New Year!

Yumea·

Chinese New Year begins tomorrow, Saturday 28 January 2017 at 08:07 (Beijing time) and will end on 15 February 2018.

Chinese New Year is rooted in the celebration of the winter solstice. It marks the end of the cold days and the imminent return of fine weather.
Always falling between 21 January and 20 February, it is an occasion to celebrate this change with joy and to gather with family.

We now move into the Year of the Rooster.
Legend has it that the Jade Emperor invited the animals to join him in celebrating the New Year. Only 12 animals answered the call. They became the 12 signs of the Chinese Zodiac, each honoured in turn every year.

Each animal is associated with certain characteristics. Those born under the sign of the Rooster are said to have a charismatic and sociable personality. It is also the sign of honesty and frankness.
