Communications for associations: challenges and issues

Yumea·

Over the years, through encounters and projects, the http5000 agency has developed expertise in the non-profit sector — particularly public-interest organisations with a genuine need to develop their marketing and communications capabilities. The http5000 agency is currently working on a synthesis and a guide aimed at associations, designed to make the best use of human resources through digital tools.

Volunteers, employees and elected members — let us work together on a sustainable strategy that is open to new communications challenges and your organisation's objectives.

The non-profit sector in figures:

  • More than 1.3 million active associations
  • More than 70,000 new associations created between September 2017 and August 2018
  • 13 million volunteers
  • 80,000 young people on civic service programmes
  • 1,844,000 employees across 163,400 employer associations

We are also working on the new website for the Association Trisomie 21 France, which the http5000 agency is building out progressively.

As a reminder, trisomy 21 — also known as Down syndrome — is caused by a genetic anomaly: specifically, the presence of an additional chromosome 21 in the cells.

People with trisomy 21 most often share common physical characteristics and, in some cases, also experience intellectual disability and psychomotor developmental delays.

After thoroughly understanding the objectives of the Association Trisomie 21 France, we set about designing their new website: there was a genuine need to move quickly and to keep the association's goals firmly at the centre of the project.

  • First and foremost, the website had to be ergonomic, resolutely modern, and easy to read and navigate.
  • We also needed to design an elegant, prominent horizontal bar to encourage donations.

Today, the challenge facing the Association Trisomie 21 — as with many other associations — is mobilising the public around their cause, changing behaviours, raising funds, and recruiting new volunteers.
