Wednesday means words of the week! Ten words of the week, to be precise.
The idea is simple: each week, we offer you 10 words. New words, original words, or simply words we know but almost never use in everyday life.
The weekly challenge is to use these 10 words at least once in the next 7 days.

1. Bandy : Verb. To joke or jest; to have fun.
2. Apologia : Noun, feminine. A discourse that defends a person or an idea, justifying it. Indeed, a laudatory speech.
3. Febrifuge : Noun, masculine. That which brings down a fever.
4. Proscribe : Verb. To forbid; to ban.
5. Heady : Adjective. A pleasant sensation that seduces through its charm.
6. Glaucous : Adjective. In its original sense, a shade of green verging on blue.
7. Prosody : Noun, feminine. The study of spoken language (intonation, tone, accent).
8. Dupery : Noun, feminine. Deception; trickery.
9. Egotistic : Adjective. Extreme egocentrism. The cult of oneself; relating everything back to one's own person.
10. Pudicity : Noun, feminine. The quality of being modest or chaste.
